Men and women of all ages who want effective, high quality exercise that will future proof their bodies. Often people come to me first with niggling aches, back pain, bad posture or joint stiffness and we use Pilates to overcome these issues. I enjoy teaching people from all backgrounds and levels of experience.
At my private studio and Salt Water Studios rigorous hygiene and cleanliness practices are in place in every aspect of our operations, following the UK government guidelines, updates and recommendations with regard to the coronavirus, as well as adding our own ultra-hygienic measures to ensure your safety. Our mats are cleaned after every session and class. I will not touch you during your class or session and will adhere to social distancing where possible and otherwise I will wear a mask. We will not let this affect the benefits that you will enjoy from your practise.
I pride myself on getting the best results and allowing you to achieve your goals. If you are new to Pilates or haven't done Pilates in over 12 months, I would highly recommend that you meet me for a 1:1 session or attend an Intro Class so that you understand the Pilates method and get the maximum benefit from the sessions. Even if you have done Pilates before, I am sure that you will gain benefits from attending my Intro Class or a 1:1 session.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely, but not too baggy so that I can see how your body is moving. Socks are recommended.
Pilates is a workout developed by Joseph Pilates and has a strong focus of strength, stamina, stability and stretching. Yoga is a spiritual discipline that combines postures, with meditation, chanting and teaching. They are fundamentally different practices.
We will discuss any previous or current injuries, including any back pain, shoulder pain or hip pain in the Intro Class or 1:1 session. You may be advised to speak to your Doctor prior to doing any exercises.
At least once a week, but two or more sessions is better. As with any form of exercise you will improve and notice changes more quickly the more you do it. I recommend twice a week to feel it and three times a week for transformation. Amazing affects can be achieved so long as you are consistent with your practice and make it a habit.
You will be provided with a mat and any equipment required for your class or session. However, if you have your own mat then you're welcome to bring it along.
Drop ins are not advisable because I pride myself on progressing my classes through layering on challenges week on week.
Pilates is a form of exercise that is harder than it looks. However, do not be put off by this. I will always progress you at your own pace and ability.
